Mitch Barrett, a native Kentuckian, performs at South Magoffin Elementary on April 17th and 18th. He is a singer, songwriter, and Lyrical storyteller. His performances consist of traditional Appalachian stories and songs. He is the 2009 telluride Troubadour and 2X Merlefest winner. He gave an enthralling performance.

On Saturday, April 14 starting at 9:00 a.m. Big Sandy Community & Technical College wants to invite students to any campus for instruction in math, reading, and writing to aid in preparing them for either the June 9 ACT test or the COMPASS placement exam given on June 16 for workshop attendees.
